I’ve been a business owner for more than ten years. Before photography, I was a handyman—learning tools and tricks of the trade, making mistakes, and figuring things out the hard way.

That season taught me what most operators eventually learn: the back end of the business matters just as much as the craft. You need systems, not guesses. It's rarely carelessness. Documentation gets pushed down the list because delivery, hiring, and sales feel more urgent. Some owners don't see photography as essential. Some only see the price.
